I am not an artist. Nope, not an artist, just a girl who likes to draw and make other strange things as well. When I'm not drawing (which is probably most of the time) I am probably sewing. For my job I work as a seamstress, with most of my peices being made for a merchant at the Bristol Renaissance faire. I also take on private sewing commissions as well, but on a case by case basis. It never hurts to ask though, you wont be committed to anything. I am also happy to answer any questions I can about sewing in general, so if you have a question about a cosplay costume you are making, for example, just post a comment and I'll get back to you with hopefully something helpful. Brain pickage is always free :)
Also, just to clarify, while my handle is Jaden, Jaden is also my character as well and since I used to RP him in the past, well, that's how the handle came about. So while I go by the name of Jaden the my drawings character of Jaden are of just that, a character, not myself. Sorry if this confuses anyone.

I just got an idea, but I'll need imput and participants to pull this off. If this already exists, please feel free to inform me, but otherwise, here goes the idea:
The monthly musical art challege. An art challenge where at the beginning of the month or so a song is given and the participants have to create a peice of work based on that song. Any song may be used, but it will be just one song and it would be chosen by the winner of the previoius month's contest. The artwork may be done in any medium and of any subject just as long as some part of that work was inspired by the music, either by the lyrics or just the feel of the tune itself. If you want it to be of your own character, that's ok, if it's fan art, it's ok, if it's a montage of your photographs set to fit the song, that's ok too, all forms of art are encouraged. Here's the catch though, along with the work a short essay must be submitted describing the work, how it fits with the music and the creative process that went into making the work. Also, the music and submissions must be acceptable for artists under the age of 18, I want this to be for open to everyone!
So that's my idea. Here are the areas I still need you guys' help in though, I still need to figure out where and how the submissions will be viewed and a system of judging. If we can pull this off I think it will be fantastic to see all the vastly different works produced from a single song and it will be a great way to discover new artists and genres of the music world. MMyep. So if anyone wants to participate please post a comment on this journal entry and I'll start 'er off once I get the kinks worked out and I get comments from at least 7 interested people (it wouldnt be much of a contest if no one entered!). So Please please please let me know what you think!
